A new identity, £3 million investment and international partnership mark the next chapter for one of the UK’s established independent wholesale seed suppliers.

All Things Rural, the specialist wholesale seed supplier established in 2004, has announced its rebrand to ATR Seed Limited, alongside a £3 million investment in its facilities and a new strategic partnership with German seed supplier Feldsaaten Freudenberger.

The announcements represent a significant milestone in the company’s development, strengthening its production capabilities, expanding its supply network and laying the foundations for continued growth in the UK wholesale seed market.

£3 million investment in production and infrastructure

ATR Seed has committed £3 million of internally funded investment to upgrade its existing facilities at Willicote and acquire additional land for future development.

The investment includes modernising manufacturing infrastructure, expanding storage and distribution capabilities, and installing the UK’s largest grass seed mixer.

With mixing capacity exceeding 120 tonnes per day, the new equipment will enable ATR Seed to increase production efficiency, improve flexibility and broaden the range of seed products available to its customers.

Will Compson, CEO of ATR Seed, explains:

“The new investment will enable ATR Seed to expand and further develop our existing Willicote site, modernise our manufacturing infrastructure and invest in further storage and distribution.”

The investment reinforces the company’s commitment to providing dependable wholesale seed supply while maintaining the flexibility and service that its customers have come to expect.

Expanding our offering to customers

Since its establishment in 2004, All Things Rural has developed into a specialist wholesale seed supplier serving customers across the agricultural, amenity, game cover, tree seed and wildflower sectors.

Operating as ATR Seed, the business will continue to build on this expertise, offering an increasingly comprehensive range of seed mixtures and products.

Investment in production and storage will also strengthen the company’s purchasing capabilities, helping it respond to changing market requirements and customer demand.

As Will Compson explains:

“By future-proofing the business in this way, we can substantially increase our current buying power, offering customers an even more comprehensive range of seed mixtures whilst retaining both the quality and supply efficiency they have come to expect since the business began in 2004.”

A new international partnership

Alongside the rebrand and investment, ATR Seed has announced a strategic partnership with Feldsaaten Freudenberger, one of Europe’s leading grass seed suppliers.

The German-based business is Europe’s second-largest grass seed supplier, bringing extensive international experience and an established seed supply network to the partnership.

The alliance will support ATR Seed’s long-term ambitions in the UK, providing access to an even broader international supply network and strengthening the company’s ability to meet customer requirements.

Rene Freudenberger, CEO of Feldsaaten Freudenberger, welcomes the partnership:

“Today’s announcement represents the beginning of an exciting new era for both companies, our employees, and most importantly, our customers.”

He continues:

“We have watched All Things Rural achieve remarkable momentum in the last 22 years. Their team, culture, and core principles focusing on speed, quality and ongoing investment to continually meet customer expectations align strongly with our own values.”

A new name. The same commitment.

The transition from All Things Rural to ATR Seed reflects the company’s evolution into a specialist wholesale seed partner.

While the name and visual identity have changed, the business remains focused on the principles that have supported its growth over the past two decades: quality, reliability, flexibility and strong customer relationships.

With significant investment in infrastructure, enhanced production capabilities and an expanded international supply network, ATR Seed is positioned to support its customers’ ambitions for years to come.
